We are a small house in a small village. We collect only the data we need to host you, to reply to you and, if you want, to write to you now and then. Here is all of it, in plain words.

Who we are

Your data is controlled by Barefoot Ventures S.R.L., the company that runs Viscri 9 — registered office at Viscri nr. 9, Brașov County, Romania, tax ID (CUI) 48912079, trade register no. J2023002860085. For any question about your data, write to us at hey@viscri9.com.

What we collect and why

When you book. Your name, email address, phone number, the dates of your stay, the room and the number of guests. We need them to make and confirm your booking and to reach you before you arrive. The legal basis is our accommodation contract. If you book through a platform (Booking.com, Airbnb), we receive the same data from it.

When you pay. Online payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details; we only receive the payment confirmation and the amount.

When you stay with us. On arrival we fill in the documents Romanian law requires for guests, and we keep invoices and accounting records for as long as tax and accounting law requires. The legal basis is our legal obligation.

After your stay. A few days after you leave, we send you a single email asking for a review. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in knowing how your stay went; you can unsubscribe from that email with one click.

When you subscribe to our letters. Your email address (and your first name, if you give it), from our website or from our Instagram form. We only write to you once you have confirmed your subscription from the email we send you. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time through the unsubscribe link in every email.

When you visit our website. We count visits with PostHog, without cookies and without identifying you. Google cookies (Google Analytics and Google Ads), which show us which pages and ads bring us guests, load only if you choose “Accept” in the cookie window. You can change your choice at any time from “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.

When you write to us. Your email and what you wrote, so we can reply.

Who we work with

We never sell or lend your data to anyone. We use it through a few providers who work for us, each only for its own part: Smoobu (booking management), Stripe (payments), Brevo (sending emails and our subscriber list), Vercel (website hosting), PostHog (visit statistics, on EU servers), Google (statistics and ads, only with your consent) and Meta (Instagram, if you subscribe through the form there). Some of them may process data outside the European Union; in those cases the transfer relies on the safeguards provided by the GDPR, such as standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep it

Booking data is kept as long as needed for your stay and then for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Subscriber addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Emails you send us are kept as long as needed to close the conversation. Visit statistics do not identify you.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to show you the data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict its use, to give it to you in a format you can take elsewhere, or to stop using it for something you had consented to. Write to us at hey@viscri9.com and we will reply within one month. If you feel we have not respected your rights, you can file a complaint with the Romanian data protection authority, ANSPDCP (dataprotection.ro).

Changes

If we change anything in how we use your data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
